This past week has been another trial on my heart. Watching this Administration attempt to take away health insurance from millions of people is just appalling. I am stunned at how much has been shaken up over the past few months and the intentions of folks to isolate and protect a few and harm others. And for what? What does this group of people believe they are accomplishing for themselves? You can call it spirit. You can call it Karma. But what I do know to be true is that the seeds you sow into this world will truly come to harvest. I am grateful I don’t have their heart condition.
We all have a “pre-existing condition” and if we didn’t before this bill was voted on, most certainly any human being who possess compassion for other people is now suffering from a heart condition. And to look at the list of what is excluded is just simply shocking. And sexist. And so many other things. Oh, Lord, please speak to my Heart.
The beauty about what is happening now is that the real condition of this country’s heart has truly been exposed. We now see how far others will go for money. We see their brokenness. We see their wounds. We see they have a pre-existing condition. It’s called greed. Entitlement. Selfishness. Hatred. What must life be like for people who suffer from this condition? I haven’t heard one argument about why this administration is what this country needs now, that makes any logical sense. This man leading this country is certainly not a businessman. He certainly isn’t looking out for the citizens of this country. He isn’t qualified. He isn’t smart. He isn’t educated. I just don’t understand what anyone thought they were going to gain from this.
A generous person will be made rich, and whoever satisfies others will himself be satisfied.” ~Proverbs 11:25
May those of us who are generous in this world find space in our heart to heal.
